![]() ![]() TL DR: To make a comparison, it's like if Apple released the iPhone 6S and then the 6SS and then the iPhone 6SSS all at the roughly same price point within a couple months of you getting your new iPhone 6 all for the sake of sales since they know some people are going to upgrade from the 6SS to the 6SSS. Every card on store shelves today or bought previously have effectively had their value drop. TL DR: The newer SSC has improved over every edition in their catalogue released so far and at the same price as their most popular model, the SC. There seems to be a FTW+ model incoming according to the third link provided as well so really there's no model safe that's on shelves at this moment. The new SSC retails at the same price and they've already shown zero intention of releasing info of their changes until the next card up is released. Please be aware if you're interested or recently purchased their most popular model, the SC. They got handled in this Bit-Tech article ( ) and ever since I've only seen Asus, MSI and Gigabyte partake. They are also suspiciously never apart of GTX 970 round up articles since launch. I upgraded to a 980 from Asus simply for the quieter operation and fatigue from EVGA's ever changing catalogue that have now saturated the market with well over 10 different 970 models from the ACX 1.0 fan variants, 2.0 fans, and now new pcb's. I personally sold my 970 SSC once EVGA dropped the model from their store and went silent on the matter. It went up for sale from EVGA'S web store co-currently here: Ĭonfirmation of the new 6 phase power management here: Īn image of the new cooler difference (they claim 6% more effective) can be found here: Their press release on the card can be found here: They now have re-released the SSC with the newer cooler from the FTW model, a newer pcb with improved 6 phase power management and the x3 display port configuration at the price of an SC edition so everyone can feel slighted. As per EVGA'S strategy to sell through old components like the ACX 1.0 fans to GTX 970 early adoption customers who didn't know any better (you won't find reviews about them anywhere). ![]()
